My name is Lindy. I started this company in May 2025. I noticed the need for childcare during events like weddings, funerals, conferences, and other major events and decided to do something about it. Too many turn down invitations or miss crucial networking opportunities because on-site, trusted childcare simply isn’t an option. How do I know? I’m a parent who has unfortunately missed opportunities due to lack of childcare. Sometimes a traditional sitter isn’t an option (i.e. out of town events) and on-site care would be not only more convenient but practical. As a parent who understands the want, and often times need, to keep children close, I recognized this significant gap in the market. I had a clear vision that would provide a comfortable solution allowing parents to participate fully in any event, worry-free. An on-site childcare service. Thus, Playcare on the Go, LLC was created. By bringing trusted childcare directly to the venue, we remove the most common barrier to attendance for parents/guardians, creating a win-win for both parents/guardians and event hosts. Genius, right? I mean, I sure thought so.
Here’s the issue, I thought I would have had multiple events booked and completed by this point in my journey, but that has not been the case. There have been a few setbacks, mainly due to me not knowing how to effectively advertise as well as simply being scared to put myself out there. It is so nerve wracking to start a business that there isn’t much of a blueprint for. I have researched, and there are a few businesses set up like mine, but it is clearly a concept that not many people are pursuing. I am starting to realize this is going to take a lot more than I anticipated. However, I will succeed one way or another!

What’s Next?
I’d like to always end with some next steps to hold myself accountable as well as give y’all an idea of what to look forward to in next week’s post. One of my main focuses will be setting up the necessary infrastructure for Playcare on the Go and stocking up on all of the essentials! I plan to create a designated office space within the next few months to ensure I have a professional area to work.
